Summerside Bicycle Fun Fest is a celebration of community and cycling in the city. It is a community bicycle event that anticipates the participation of around 80 to 100 people but may reach as high as 150. The event starts at TOSH, and then we cycle to different parks, where we play games for 20 minutes before proceeding to the next park. We will offer free pizza, chocolate milk, and other exciting prizes. Later in the evening, there will be a HopOn festival for youth. Our current planning partners for the event are the City of Summerside, Boys and Girls Club, Community Connections, Cycling PEI, Bike Friendly Communities, Experience Summerside, and SAFE Summerside.
Three Key Goals
- To ride (and showcase) the safe recreation trails in the City that lead to parks and to ride the City’s first active transportation pathway to encourage safe outdoor physical activity.
- Enhance and build community active living partnerships.
- To offer this FREE event as an added day of summer programming for a number of different community groups (Generation XX, Boys and Girls Club, City of Summerside Summer Camp, Daycare School-age programs, Community Connections, Notre Dame Place, etc.) and to the entire community.
